Ignore your own visits
Prevent your own visits to your website from being recorded by Statcounter to ensure your stats are not skewed by your browsing activity.
Prior to ignoring your visits, you'll be able to identify them on Recent Activity reports such as Visitor Activity and Page View Activity by the "You" label. You can click this label to see the options for ignoring your visits.
There are two ways to ignore your visits in Statcounter
Ignore Visits from Your IP Address
This is the best method as long as your IP address doesn’t change often.
- While Logged in to Statcounter, visit your Projects Page and navigate to the relevant project by clicking on the project title.
- Open the Project Config menu at the bottom left of the screen and select Ignore Visits.
- Under “Ignore Visits From Others”, select “Ignore your current IP?Address: “ to add your IP address to the list and select the “Save Changes” button.
This will ignore your IP address from the selected project. If you wish to ignore your IP address from all projects, check the checkbox labelled “Ignore IP addresses on all projects.”
Ignore Visits From Your Computer
Please note that you must enable cookies in your browser and ensure that cookies are not regularly deleted by either your browser or your antivirus software. A blocking cookie must be set up for each separate browser you use.
- While Logged in to Statcounter, visit your Projects Page.
- Select Blocking Cookie from the left navigation menu. The “Create Single Blocking Cookie Covering all Projects” button will save a cookie to your browser and prevent your visits to any of the projects in your account from being tracked in Statcounter.
To set a blocking cookie for an individual project:
- While Logged in to Statcounter, visit your Projects Page and navigate to the relevant project by clicking on the project title.
- Open the Project Config menu at the bottom left of the screen and select Ignore Visits.
- Under “Ignore Visits From This Computer”, select the “Create Project Blocking Cookie“ button.

I am developing a mobile app, and have also done the same things on two Android phones and two iPhones. All of this activity is also shown in the log. Have logged into statcounter in Chrome and Safari on the phones and it says the blocking cookie is enabled.
Is this just broken, or is there something else I can do to avoid recording my own activity.
Thanks, aside from this minor issue I find Statcounter very useful
