Statcounter provides customisable hit counters, visitor tracking, web analytics and website stats for (hosted by wordpress). (hosted by wordpress)

  1. Sign up for an account at Statcounter to get your code.

    These instructions will be repeated after you've created an account and added your first project.

    Already a member?

  2. Copy the StatCounter code.
  3. Log into (opens in a new window).
  4. Click "My Sites" in the top navigation bar. If you have more than one Blog you may have to select which one you wish to edit. - My Sites

  5. Click "Customize" button within the "Themes" menu item. (Note: if you click on the "Themes" menu item this allows you to change the theme rather than customize it.) - Customize Theme

  6. Click on the "Widgets" menu item. The menu then changes to give you an option as to where to put the widget - we suggest you click the "Main Sidebar". - Click Widgets

  7. When the Main Sidebar menu appears click on the '+ Add a widget' at the bottom of that menu. - Click '+ Add a widget'

  8. A Widget Menu appears to the right of the Main Sidebar. Scroll to near the bottom if this menu and select the 'Text' option. - aelect the 'Text' option

  9. Paste the StatCounter code into the 'Content' field of the Text Widget.

  10. - Paste StatCounter code and click Save & Publish

  11. Then click on 'Save & Publish' near the top of the sidebar menu, and that's it!

Your StatCounter will now begin recording visitor information and, if you chose the visible option, your counter will be visible on your blog!
